cIRCLE HOME  STAFF GALLERY

The FGCU AMC 8 Workshop is sponsored by the Seidler Student/Faculty Collaboration Fellowship Grant and serves as an innovative, student-led mathematics enrichment program for middle school students. The workshop is designed and led by undergraduate students Kayla Kerr and Mason Huffman, who guide participants through problem-solving strategies, mathematical reasoning, and core concepts aligned with the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 8).

Kayla and Mason work under the mentorship of Dr. Daniel Kern and Prof. Tanya Huffman, whose guidance ensures that the workshop maintains strong academic rigor while fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment. Through this collaboration, the program not only prepares middle school students for the AMC 8 exam but also provides valuable undergraduate research and teaching experience, reflecting FGCU’s commitment to community engagement and excellence in mathematics education.
