
Welcome to the Sustainable Futures Challenge
Focused on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this Challenge invites the FGCU community to turn ideas for a better future into reality.
The 2025 Sustainable Futures Challenge: Soaring to Success brought together FGCU鈥檚 brightest entrepreneurial minds at the Daveler & Kauanui School of Entrepreneurship. More than $20,000 in funding was awarded to help turn their visions into ventures that make an impact.

馃弳FIRST PLACE $10,000: Thrift & Sip 鈥 Redefining the retail experience by blending thrift fashion with community and sustainability.

馃SECOND PLACE $7,000: Mental Over Muscle 鈥 Promoting mental wellness through programs that strengthen resilience, self-awareness, and community support.
- 馃THIRD PLACE $5,000 : Cargo Crafters 鈥 Creating custom, sustainable cargo solutions designed to minimize waste and maximize function.
- WINNER $500.00: Art By Yana & Jake (Osprey & Otter Prints) 鈥 Merging art and environmental awareness through sustainable, nature-inspired printmaking.
- WINNER $500.00: BURST Beverages (Boba) 鈥 Innovating the beverage industry with eco-friendly packaging and responsibly sourced ingredients.
- WINNER $500.00: Thrift Rewards App 鈥 Encouraging conscious shopping through a digital platform that rewards sustainable consumer choices.

- Over $20,000 will be awarded in cash prizes.
- Open to all FGCU students and recent alumni, Fall 2023 and later.
- Ideas must directly address one or more .
- Gain feedback, build networks, and present to potential investors.
- Teams may include up to four members and must include at least one current FGCU student or recent alumnus from any major.
- Applications are due by Friday, Sept 26, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
